Rebel Dane popular elect in 2016 Australia Stakes

deep-field-flemingtonThe 2016 Australia Stakes will light up Moonee Valley on Saturday in Melbourne and classy sprinter Rebel Dane is a warm favourite to break his Valley drought.

Popular online bookie Sportsbet posted the six-year-old at $3.50 for the Australia Stakes and he has since firmed into $3.30.

Rebel Dane has not won in Valley attempts and takes on a strong field including Emirates Stakes winner Hucklebuck $9.00 and dual Group 1 winner Trust In A Gust $9.00, after both opened at $8.00 earlier in the week.

Darren Weir’s talented dual Group 1 winner Trust In A Gust, also resuming from a spell, is also showing $9.00on the third line of betting at $8.00.

Durendal, who has a fitness edge, is second favourite for the Group 2 at $8.00, easing from his opening price of $7.00.

In form Russell Bell 4yo Sirbible has had some specking, firming from $17.00 into $12.00.
