Jason Day set to be World Number 1 this year

September 3, 2015

jason-dayCan Jason Day reach the dizzying heights of World Number 1 in 2015?

Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au thinks so with Day priced at $2.70 to achieve the feat for the first time this year, $3.50 in 2016 and $9.00 in 2017.

Day, who has won four US PGA Tour events this season including his last three starts, is the $3.50 favourite to win this week’s FedExCup and extend his winning streak to four.

Sportsbet has priced Day at $2.60 to extend his total number of US PGA Tour wins to five during the 2014/15 season, $13 to take his tally to six wins, and $176 to make it seven wins for the season, requiring him to win the final three US PGA Tour events of the season.

“Sportsbet is confident Jason Day will become World Number 1 for the first time at some stage this year, our only concern is whether or not he will suffer from another bout of vertigo when he finally reaches those dizzying heights,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Bulmer.
