Perth Autumn Carnival
The 2011 Perth Autumn Racing Carnival takes place from March through to July at both Ascot and Belmont racecourses in Perth with the ‘WATC Derby’ and ‘Karrakatta Plate’ the premier races of the autumn in Western Australia.
Ascot racecourse is home to non-winter racing in Perth and hosts feature races over three Saturdays in the autumn from February through to April.
The $500,000 Group 2 Karrakatta Plate and $150,000 Group 2 WA Champion Fillies Stakes in February, the $250,000 Group 3 WA Oaks in March, the $500,000 Group 2 WATC Derby and $250,000 Group 3 WA Sires Produce Stakes in April all take place at Ascot racecourse.
Belmont racecourse is used during the winter months and is home to four group races from May through to July which are raced over four weekends.
The $125,000 Group 3 Roma Cup in May, the $125,000 Group 3 Belmont Sprint and $150,000 Group 3 Hyperion Stakes in June, and the $125,000 Group 3 Strickland Stakes in July are all held at Belmont.
