Melbourne Cup Carnival
The 2011 Melbourne Cup Carnival will see the 151st running of the world’s richest 3200 metres handicap race, the time honoured Melbourne Cup at Flemington racecourse in Melbourne on the first Tuesday in November.
The four day Melbourne Cup Carnival at Flemington is a one-week long , four day extravaganza of thoroughbred racing action that attracts crowds of almost 400,000 people to the four scheduled race meetings.

Other elite races held during the Melbourne spring racing carnival include the Caulfield Cup and WS Cox Plate and both races take place on the two proceeding Saturdays leading into the beginning of the 2011 Melbourne Cup Carnival.
