Silent Achiever outright Favourite for the Australian Derby at Sportsbet

Silent Achiever has snatched favoritism for Saturday’s Australian Derby from the Gai Waterhouse trained Laser Hawk – the Kiwi filly now heads the betting at $3.50 with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au after opening at $3.75.
Laser Hawk has drifted from $3.40 out to $4.00 while Ocean Park with Glen Boss aboard sits on the third line of betting at $4.60.
“We have taken plenty of bets around the $2,000 mark all week on Silent Achiever and one punter pounced on the $3.50 with a bet of $10,000,” sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes said.
Rekindled Alliance has remained steady at $12 all week while Ethiopia and Strike The Stars have attracted the most interest outside of the top three in the market, both tightening into $13 from $15.
In the Sires Produce Stakes, Black Caviar’s half-brother All Too Hard continues to be the punters choice, backed into $1.60 after opening at $1.75 while Golden Slipper winner Pierro sits second at $2.40.
Foxwedge has also been backed into favoritism for the TJ Smith Stakes, into $2.05 from $2.15 with Rain Affair easing out to the second line of betting at $2.30 from $2.00.
