2010 Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes Day at Moonee Valley

Group Racing returns to Moonee Valley racecourse on Saturday 11th September for the running of the $500,000 Group 2 Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes which is run under weight-for-age conditions over 1600 metres in Melbourne.
Formerly known as the ‘John F. Feehan Stakes’, since 2005 it’s been run as the ‘Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes’ each year in September.
The 2009 Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes seen victory go to Mark Kavanagh gelding Whobegotyou who got to the line with one length to spare from Mic Mac with a further 2.75 lengths further back to Jolie’s Shinju in third place in a race time of 1:37.39.
Early nominations for the 2010 Dat Tan Chin Nam Stakes include last year’s winner Whobegotyou who resumed with a top second in the Memsie Stakes behind So You Think recently.
Peter Moody mare Typhoon Tracy ran fourth in the Memsie and has also been nominated alongside John Wallace galloper Shoot Out who finished runner-up in the same race.
The impressive Moudre looks set to test himself against the elite gallopers if trainer Ciaron accepts for the race while Sandown Classic winner Zipping has been nominated from the Robert Hickmott stable.
On the same day in Sydney it’s Theo Marks Stakes day where three group races are on offer.
