Sydney galloper Danleigh is ruling favourite at Betfair for the $400,000 Group 2 Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington today and we believe he is a false favourite and the ‘Lay of the Day’ at Betfair.

Danleigh has had two starts at Flemington prior to today and failed to place in either event and distance wise he has managed just three placings from five around this trip and has failed to win which is significant for punters.

The Makybe Diva Stakes has a full field of 16 gallopers and Danleigh will jump from barrier 10 which means he will need luck early to find a good position in the run without using too much energy.

Danleigh has failed to win at the trip already and if he has to be used up early then it’s not going to help his chances of running it out strongly today.

The only thing in Danleigh’s favour is the Soft track conditions where he has won five races and placed twice from seven starts.

That could be his saving grace but Danleigh is going to need all the favours go his way to win the Makybe Diva Stakes and while he has some chance, history says he will run well but will find something else better on the day.
