By Beejay on Sep 03, 2010 with Comments 0
Paul Roos, in his final year coaching the Sydney Swans, will regain the services of some key inclusions when they take on Carlton at ANZ Stadium in the First Elimination Final on Sunday 5th September in Sydney.
The Sydney Swans welcome back ruckman Shane Mumford, defender Tadhg Kennelly and NAB Rising Star Daniel Hannebery for the clash against the Blues with the final team to be named on the weekend.
Matt O’Dwyer is named in the extended team with Brett Meredith to miss with a hip problem.
Carlton brings in Sam Jacobs at the expense of Shaun Hampson with Steven Browne, Richard Hadley, Andrew Walker and Joe Anderson named in the extended squad, while Shaun Grigg will miss the match with an injured calf.
The Blues will be out to improve their recent record against the Swans on Sunday and it should be an entertaining game.

Sydney has dominated Carlton in recent years and they have won four of the past five meetings over the Blues and they travelled to Melbourne just a few weeks ago to defeat Carlton by almost seven goals at Etihad.
The Swans will be feeling fairly confident playing at home against the Blues in this match.
Last 5 Rounds for & against
| Team | Goals | Points | Disposals | Disp PG | In 50′s | Tackles | ||||||
| Sydney | 15 | 13.4 | 103 | 87 | 368 | 313 | 24.5 | 23.4 | 53 | 48 | 54 | 54 |
| Carlton | 16 | 13 | 106 | 92 | 342 | 364 | 21.4 | 28 | 52 | 55 | 65 | 63 |
Average stats are fairly even between these two sides and the clear difference is in disposals per goal where Carlton are scoring goals at the top rate of 21 disposals compared to Sydney’s 25 while the Blues also average 11 more tackles a game.
The match being played in the harbour city will tip the figures Sydney’s way but recent form says the Blues are a better chance than their odds suggest.
Our Tip: Sydney
The Swans have won thirteen of their past fourteen clashes against the Blues and the Sydney team go in with a very settled side on the back of some very good form which does not augur well for the Blues.
All of the Swans playmakers are firing at the right time and they will fancy themselves to get the job done against a team they have dominated over the past few years.
Carlton struggles with Sydney’s physicality at the ball and coming off the back of a trip to Perth we expect Carlton to have a crack but fall short against the Swans and it’s Sydney for ours.
