Round 5 of the 2010/2011 A-League season kicks off on Friday night when the Central Coast Mariners tackle Melbourne Victory in what should be an entertaining clash with both sides looking for their second win of the new season.
The A-League ladder after 4 rounds has Perth Glory and Adelaide United equal on top with 8 points while four teams sit on the bottom with 2 points and they are Gold Coast United, Newcastle Jets, Sydney FC and Melbourne Heart.
A-League Round 5 preview
A big clash looms at Bluetongue Stadium where Central Coast Mariners $2.88 tackle an improving Melbourne Victory $2.30 and this has all the makings of a draw although the Victory on the handicap could be an option.
Late Saturday at AAMI Park Melbourne Heart $2.10 go in favourites against North Queensland Fury $3.30 and with john Aloisi likely to start for the home side they look every chance of getting their first win on the board.
Saturday night an epic clash is set for Sydney Football Stadium when Sydney FC $2.10 host Adelaide United $3.30 and this should be a top match with the away team very much over the odds on early season form.
We like the draw but Adelaide at the handicap is very appealing at those odds.
Newcastle Jets $2.60 host the Brisbane Roar $2.60 at EnergyAustralia Stadium on Sunday afternoon and the Jets are always tough to wear down at home and the draw is a likely result here.
Final match of the round also on Sunday afternoon sees Perth Glory $1.91 tackle the visiting Wellington Phoenix $3.75 who have to travel quite a way for this match and the Glory at home look the team most likely.
