2010 Chelmsford Stakes preview – Randwick racecourse

A big eight race program will take place at Randwick racecourse on Saturday 4th September with the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes the feature event of the day where the first race will kick off at 12.25pm and the last set to go at 5.00pm.

Warwick Stakes winner Metal Bender $2.50 will go around a warm favourite at Randwick on Saturday after his excellent first-up win in a fortnight ago.

Chris Waller has elected to run stablemate Danleigh at Flemington in the Makybe Diva Stakes and Metal Bender has drawn the one alley for this race where he is a winner over the course and the trip.

Theseo $3.60 is a class galloper who resumed with a top fifth in the Warwick Stakes and he has drawn well on the inside to get the run of the race and should be thereabouts at race end.

Glyn Schofield will ride Warwick Stakes runner-up Triple Honour $4.40 who produced a top run when resuming and he has one win and three placings from eights starts around this circuit and should make his presence felt at the business end.

Purple $8.50 from the Peter Snowden camp is yet to place in two starts over this course & trip but she was finishing at a rate of knots when fourth in the Warwick Stakes first-up and has some chance on her best form.

The form from the Warwick Stakes should hold up again here and the first three in betting here appear likely to figure in the first three placings.
