2010 Makybe Diva Stakes Day at Flemington racecourse

Spring racing steps up another gear on Saturday 4th September in Melbourne when Flemington racecourse hosts Makybe Diva Stakes day which often proves to be a pivotal day of racing in the spring for Cup hopefuls.
A bevy of classy gallopers will assemble for the 2010 Makybe Diva Stakes which is the first weight-for-age race of the spring carnival over 1600 metres in Melbourne and we should see a fantastic race come Saturday.
Damien Oliver rode Vigor to victory in the 2009 Makybe Diva Stakes when he outpointed brilliant mare Typhoon Tracy by a nose on the line while Master O’Reilly ran into third place 1.75 lengths away in a time of 1:35.82.
Other quality races on a top program at Flemington include the $250,000 Group 2 Danehill Stakes for three-year-olds, the Group 3 $200,000 Let’s Elope Stakes for mares and the $200,000 Group 3 Bobbie Lewis Quality handicap up the Flemington ‘straight six’ course.
Many of the runners going around in the Makybe Diva Stakes on Saturday will be aiming to peak for the 2010 Melbourne Cup Carnival in November.
