Group racing returns to Randwick racecourse on Saturday 4th September in Sydney with the main race of the day being the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes over 1600 metres which will attract Sydney’s best milers.
O’lonhro won the 2009 Chelmsford Stakes by 0.75 lengths from consistent mare Miss Marielle with Triple Honour a nose away in third place in a time of 1:34.50.
Other group races on Chelmsford Stakes day include the $175,000 Group 2 Furious Stakes for three-year-old fillies and the Group 3 $125,000 Tramway Quality Handicap for 3yo & upward gallopers.
