2010 Golden Rose preview at Rosehill racecourse

The $1,000,000 Group 1 Golden Rose for three-year-olds headlines a quality 8 race card at Rosehill racecourse on Saturday 28th August with the first race at 12:55pm and the last set to jump at 5.05pm.
Masquerader and Crystal Lily are currently the most fancied runners in early markets for the 2010 Golden Rose on Saturday with Toorak Toff next in betting.
Masquerader $4.40 from the David Payne camp is already a winner at the track winning the Todman Stakes back in the autumn and he resumed with a top second to Squamosa in the Run To The Rose at this track a fortnight ago.
The Run To The Rose tends to provide a great guide to to the Golden Rose and Masquerader from barrier two with hugh Bowman aboard has an undeniable chance.
Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily $4.40 was run down first-up recently at Caulfield by Panipique in the Quezette Stakes and will be much better for the run here. Hinchinbrook $10.00 resumes for Gerald Ryan and the Fastnet Rock colt has big wraps on him and talk around the traps says he is expected to run well.
He ran fourth in the Group 1 Golden Slipper in the autumn before finishing third in the in the Group 1 Sires Produce Stakes and aided by an inside alley with the services of Corey Brown he has to be respected.
Last start winner Panipique $11.00 showed a good turn of foot to run down star filly Crystal Lily in the Quezette Stakes and is likely to run well again although she faces a rise in class here.
Gai Waterhouse colt Squamosa $13.00 has drawn barrier 14 for his first test at Group 1 level and faces a tough task to head some of these and have petrol in the tank at the other end.
