Michael Christian Reviews iBetMate – the iPhone App for Betfair

Search “betting” in Apple’s App Store and you are confronted by hundreds of apps, most poorly rated and many carrying hefty price tags.
Then there is iBetMate rated a more-than-respectable 3.5 stars, and best of all, free.
It claims to be the most feature rich and user friendly interface for Betfair on an iPhone, so I decided to try it out.
Certain reviews label it “Excellent,” “Fantastic,” and, “A cracker”. Using it myself, I found it a quick, easy and intuitive product for placing bets on racing and sports markets from both Australia and abroad.
Importantly, iBetMate allows you to do all the things that make Betfair.com unique: laying, setting your own odds, and betting “in-play” or during live events.
A cursory glance at the reviewers (“TraderSupreme” for example) suggests that iBetMate finds favour among the more professional of punters too. And it’s easy to see why – iBetMate provides punters and traders alike with all the essentials and remarkably quick bet placement, but also includes the sophisticated elements like displays of market depth and price/volume histories.
All in all, a great way to bet on the move – whether you’re at the races, a sporting event, or sitting on your couch.
The only possible drawback to iBetMate is the fact that users cannot register an account or deposit/withdraw funds through the application. This appears to be the sole reason that it has not commanded the perfect rating, but one that is easily allayed by a simple visit to Betfair. (or iphone.betfair.com on your iPhone browser).

If you can overcome this small shortcoming though, iBetMate is a fantastic way to bet on your iPhone, and well worth downloading and registering a new betting account at Betfair to utilise for free.
