2010 Golden Rose day at Rosehill – Saturday 28th August

Three-year-old stars of the turf will be making their way to Rosehill racecourse on Saturday 28th August for the $1,000,000 Group 1 Golden Rose which is Sydney’s only million-dollar race of the spring.
The Sydney Turf Club has a fantastic day of racing organised and the first 10,000 people on course will receive a scratchie card and have the chance to win one of 7,000 prizes valued in excess of $140,000 including a trip for 2 to the 2010 Melbourne Cup.
Gates open on Saturday at 11.00 am and admission prices are Adults $20 ($15 if pre-booked through Ticketek), Pensioners $5 and children under 18 get in for free. The first race will kick off around 11.45am while the final race will be approximately 5.00pm.

Melbourne also has a big day of racing this weekend with 2010 Memsie Stakes Day at Caulfield racecourse.
The 2009 Golden Rose was won in outstanding style by glamour colt Denman who was ridden perfectly by Kerryn McEvoy to score by 1.75 lengths from Trusting with Stryker a half length away in third place in a time of 1:22.83.
2010 Golden Rose nominations
A number of quality three-year-olds have been nominated for the 2010 Golden Rose including Decision Time, Pressday, Toorak Toff, Solar Charged and Saturday’s Up And Coming Stake’s winner Blackball.
2009 Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily has been nominated from the Mathew Ellerton & Simon Zahra camp and she will provide plenty of opposition for her opponents if she starts on Saturday.
Gillian Heinrich’s classy filly Military Rose has also been entered and the Golden Rose is set to be a cracker of a race at Rosehill on Saturday.
