Another big day of racing in Sydney on Saturday 21st August when the $175,000 Group 2 Warwick Stakes headlines a quality eight race card at Warwick Farm racecourse along with the Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes and Group 3 Silver Shadow Stakes for three-year-olds.

The first race at Warwick Farm commences at 12.55pm with the final race set down for 5.05pm, while the Warwick Stakes start time is 3.50pm.

Danleigh is the early shortener in tomorrow’s Warwick Stakes at leading Australian bookmaker IASbet with smart punters snapping up the opening quote of  $3.50 with the gelding currently trading at $2.80.

Ranvet Stakes winner in the autumn Theseo $7.50 resumes for Gai Waterhouse and he is well in the market for his return to racing, although he generally performs better over more ground but the Danewin galloper has one win and three placings over this trip so has to be respected.

Nash Rawiller will pilot Theseo from barrier six and expect him to be up on the pace during the run.

Metal Bender $7.50 had a wonderful winter in Queensland winning the Hollindale Cup and Doomben Cup and he too resumes from a spell in the Warwick Stakes.

From barrier 4 the Chris Waller trained 5yo should be in the firing line all they way by hoop Tim Clark but will probably find this a tad short although he has a win and second from his three tries at the trip.

Brilliant Light $8.50 is an up and coming galloper who produced a quality effort prior to a spell with an outstanding third place in the Doncaster handicap in April when he was wide all the way.

Trainer Anthony Cummings will have him primed for a first up tilt although jockey Jay Ford will have to negotiate a wide gate in 14 and that will not help his chances.

Multiple group 1 winner Sniper’s Bullet $8.50 produced a solid third placing when resuming in the Missile Stakes and he will be much fitter for the run.

The 7yo Tracey Bartlett trained gelding has excellent second-up form and being a dual winner at the trip has to be respected. Blake Shinn takes the ride and he has fared alright in barrier nine.

Another Chris Waller galloper Triple Honour $8.50 resumes here and he found some of his old form last time in when he raced very consistently up in Brisbane during the winter carnival and took out the Eagle Farm Cup in great style prior to a spell.

He has won four from seven when fresh but has yet to win in four attempts at the 1400 metres but barrier 7 with Jim Cassidy aboard suggests he will run well.
