2010 WS Cox Plate nominations

The $3,000,000 2010 WS Cox Plate has received 185 nominations and looks set to be another cracking race at the picturesque Moonee Valley racecourse on Saturday 23rd October in Melbourne.
The 2010 WS Cox Plate is one of the most prestigious races held during the 2010 Melbourne spring racing carnival and takes place one week after the Caulfield Cup at Caulfield and only seven days before the exciting 2010 Melbourne Cup Carnival at Flemington.

Only the $6.2Million Melbourne Cup at Flemington is worth more money than the WS Cox Plate and only the very best horses contest this race.
Master trainer Bart Cummings has a strong hand with last year’s winner So You Think nominated alongside Crown Oak’s winner Faint Perfume, Queensland Derby winner Dariana and Toorak Handicap winner Allez Wonder.
John Wallace has entered AJC Derby winner Shoot Out who returned in stylish fashion on the weekend to claim victory in the Bletchingly Stakes at Caulfield.
