Federer ousted from Wimbledon by Tomas Berdych in 4 sets

Czech Tomas Berdych has produced a major upset at Wimbledon defeating six time champion Roger Federer in four sets in their quarter final clash overnight at the All-England Club in London.

Berdych played some dazzling tennis to overpower the Swiss maestro and setup a semi-final clash with Novak Djokovic who ousted unseeded Yen-Hsun Lu

Roger Federer lost the first set to Berdych and then he won the second set to get it back to one-all before the Czech won the next two sets in one of the biggest upsets in recent Wimbledon history.

Berdych’s 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory win in just over two and a half hours has put him in his first Wimbledon semi-final match.

Novak Djokovic scored an easy 6-3 6-2 6-2 win over Yen-Hsun Lu to cruise through to a semi-final meeting with Swiss giant killer Tomas Berdych.

Third seed Djokovic overwhelmed the lowly ranked Lu and never even faced a break point during the match.

The big England hope Andy Murray made it through to the semi finals after disposing of Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Murray the fourth seed at the tournament had to work hard for his 6-7 7-6 6-2 6-2 win and will now face former Wimbledon champion Nadal in the other semi-final.

World number one Rafael Nadal recovered from losing an early set to win his next three and proved a convincing winner over talented Swedish star Robin Soderling.

In an entertaining match Nadal got through in four sets 3-6 6-3 7-6 6-1 to find himself against the home town favourite Andy Murray in a semi-final.
