2010 Wimbledon Preview – 2010 Wimbledon Betting and Odds

Roger Federer will be aiming for a seventh Wimbledon title when he takes his place in the 2010 Wimbledon Tennis Championships to be held from Monday 21st June through until Sunday 4th July at the All England Tennis club in London, England.

The 2009 Wimbledon Men’s Final produced one of the great matches of the modern era when Roger Federer and Andy Roddick went toe to toe over five enthralling sets before Federer finally broke the American to win 5-7,7-6,7-6,3-6 and 16-14.

Federer is the top seed at Wimbledon due to his magnificent record on the hallowed English turf. The Swiss star will face Colombian, Alejandro Falla in his first match on centre court.

2010 Wimbledon Championships Preview – Mens

Leading bookmaker Sportsbet has Roger Federer $2.38 favourite to win yet another Wimbledon crown and there is no doubting the Swiss maestro’s ability on the grass, although he appears to have lost that aura of invincibility in recent times and players seem to have caught up to him a bit over the past couple of years.

Federer lost his most recent match on grass to Lleyton Hewitt, who has been Federer’s bunny for quite some time.

Rafael Nadal $3.50 is the new world number one and won this crown over Federer back in 2008 before injury left him unable to compete last year.

Nadal was beaten by Feliciano Lopez at the Queen’s Club in London recently and he has been a top performer in Grand Slams, especially when up against Federer.

Wimbledon stalwarts Andy Murray $8.50, Novak Djokovic $21.00 and Andy Roddick $13.00 all lost on the grass at Queen’s which is not an ideal preparation for Wimbledon.

Lleyton Hewitt $26.00 will enter Wimbledon full of confidence after finally getting a win over Federer and that’s not bad form for this event.

2010 Wimbledon Men’s betting odds

2010 Wimbledon Championships Women’s preview

Reigning women’s Wimbledon champion Serena Williams $3.25 is favoured to take out her second title in a row after she was too good for her sister Venus in last year’s event.

Venus Williams $4.50 won the championships the previous two years and beat her sister venus in 2008.

In the last ten years, either Serena or Venus Williams have played in every women’s Wimbledon final, with Venus winning 5 titles and Serena taking out three.

The Williams sisters are seeded first (Serena) and second (Venus) and either one of them will certainly be hard to toss again in this tournament.

Other women in the market at Sportsbet include Justine Henin $8.00 who finished runner-up to Amelie Mouresmo in 2006 and Kim Clijsters $8.50 who is a proven Grand Slam performer and a winner of the 2009 US Open.

Maria Sharapova $10.00 has to be respected as she is a former winner over Serena Williams in the 2004 final,

Australia’s Sam Stosur $11.00 will be looking to continue on from her fantastic French Open runner-up effort and has to be considered.

Wimbledon Women’s recent winners
