2010 Trans Tasman Test – Australia Kangaroos vs New Zealand Kiwis

Australia and New Zealand are set to lock horns again in the 2010 Trans Tasman Test which will be the first game ever played at the all new AAMI Park on Friday night 7th May in Melbourne. A 30,000-strong crowd is expected to turn out for the opening of Melbourne’s new stadium.

Tickets for the game sold out earlier in the week and the Kangaroos and Kiwis will commence battle at 8.00pm Melbourne (10pm NZ time) and it is going to be cauldron of predominantly kangaroo fans urging the Australian team on for this highly anticipated match.

London was the venue for their last encounter and it ended with both sides locked on 20 points apiece in the 2009 Four Nations.

Michael Weyman will make his debut for Australia while Johnathan Thurston will miss due to injury, along with Justin Hodges and Ben Hannant. The Kangaroos side is predominantly made up of the those players that gained victory for Australia the last time these two sides met.

Injury-hit New Zealand were not able to consider the likes of Manu Vatuvei, Simon Mannering, Roy Asotasi, Jeremy Smith or Frank Pritchard and have included three newbies to the team, Newcastle’s Zeb Taia, Brisbane’s Alex Glenn and the Warriors Aaron Heremaia.
