2010 Inter Dominion Series for Pacers

The 2010 Inter Dominion Series for pacers commences on Friday 19th February at Harold Park Paceway in Sydney, NSW and culminates with the prestigious Inter Dominion Final on Sunday 7th March at Menangle Park Raceway.

The series brings together Australia & New Zealand’s best pacers to challenge for Harness Racing’s most treasured trophy.

Dating back to a 1896, the first Inter Dominion was a best- of- five heat series held at Moonee Valley Racecourse on March 4, of that year and has now become the major highlight of the year for harness racing in this part of the world.

Who can forget the brilliant drive of Anthony Butt on Mr Feelgood in the 2009 Inter Dominion Final when he nabbed Blacks A Fake close to home to win the coveted trophy and stop Blacks A Fake’s from wining his fourth title in a row, after having won from 2006 to 2008.

2010 Inter Dominion Series

The 2010 Inter Dominion Pacers Championship will be conducted over 3 race meetings and brings together the 40 best ranked pacers to battle for the honour of being Inter Dominion Champion.

2010 Inter Dominion Heats

The Heats take place over two meetings with 4 Qualifying Heats (8 Qualifying Heats in total) on each program.

Harold Park Paceway will host the first round of Qualifying Heats on Friday, 19th February, 2010 and all fields will ten horse fields from mobile starts, with 10 horses to compete, seven off the front row and three off the row.

The second round of Qualifying Heats take place at Newcastle International Paceway on Saturday 27th February, 2010, all being mobile barrier starts with ten horses to compete. All horses will start from the front row.

Menangle Park Paceway hosts the 2010 Inter Dominion Final and Consolation on Sunday 7th March, where again ten horses will start from the front row with a mobile start

2010 Inter Dominion Points Scoring

The ten highest point scorers after the completion of the Qualifying Rounds will qualify for the Final. The next two highest point scorers will qualify as reserve horses in point order for the Final.

The Consolation will be made up of the highest Point Scorers which did not qualify for the Final. The next two highest Point Scorers will qualify as reserve horses in point order for the Consolation.

2010 Inter Dominion Final Prizemoney – Pacers

Of $1,000,000 plus Gold Cup, Inscribed Rug, Sash and Trophies.

All other starters $12,000.

2010 Inter Dominion Consolation Prizemoney

Of $60,000 plus Trophy and Inscribed Rug.

2010 Inter Dominion Qualifying Heats Prizemoney

Of $40,000 plus Trophy and Inscribed Rug.
